October 1st - Early Snow
October 2nd - Jay Cooke is one of the most geographically interesting of Minnesota State Parks. Bedrock formations of the St. Louis River, are pitched to a 45 degree angle by ground pressure.
Jay Cooke State Park was established in 1915 when the St. Louis Power Company donated 2,350 acres of land for that purpose.
October 3rd - Autumn on the North Shore of Lake Superior is a very special time of year. The first frost of the season usually occurs in late September and that signals the start of color change. Usually within 2 weeks the North Shore is blazing with the reds and yellows of autumn. Split Rock Lighthouse sits in the middle of all this beauty and provided a perfect centerpiece for this image.
