February 27 - Apostle Island Sea Caves View from inside the Apostle Island Caves. Centuries of wave action, freezing, and thawing have sculpted shorelines throughout Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. Some of the Great Lakes' most spectacular scenery occurs where these forces interact. "Have you entered the storehouses of the snow, or have you seen the storehouses of the hail,..." February 28 - Snow Crystal Snowflake under a frozen microscope. - Amazingly, snowflakes always have six sides, similar to the human fingerprint. Both the form and shape of a snowflake depend on the temperature and moisture content of the cloud. He gives snow like wool; he scatters frost like ashes.
