November Sunset

November is a great time to slow down and reflect on our blessings. Snow Crystal

November 6 - Snow Crystal The snowflake in this image was crafted by frozen moisture, air currents, clouds, and temperature. The crystal was carried for miles by updrafts and then gently laid to earth with millions of others. Because no two flakes can occupy the same space in time, each one must be physically different. We can relate to the intricate and individual beauty of creation as people crafted by the hand of God in the womb and allowed to grow into who we are. For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:14

November 10 - Lighthouse Memorial The beacon at Split Rock Lighthouse is lit every year on the anniversary of Edmund Fitzgerald's sinking in a fierce winter storm in 1975 with a loss of 29 sailors. Memorial Service and Prayers for a Mariner O Eternal Lord God, who alone spreads out the heavens and rules the raging of the seas, receive into your protection all those who go down to the sea in ships and occupy their business on the great waters. Preserve them both in body and soul, prosper their labors with good success, in all times of danger, be their defense, and bring them to the haven where they would be, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

November 13 - Super Moon This month's Super Moon rises from behind the South Pier Lighthouse and appears 16% larger than normal full moons. An incredible sight to behold on a warm November evening. He made the moon to mark the seasons; the sun knows its time for setting. Psalm 104:19

Sun Pillar

November 14 - Sun Pillar Sunset Ice crystals in the atmosphere create a pillar of light to magnify the mid-November sunset. Caused by ice particles in the atmosphere, sun pillars are beams of light that extend vertically upward from the sun when conditions are right and the sun is on the horizon. From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised! Psalm 113:3

November 18 - Lake Superior Agate The Lake Superior Agate is the Minnesota State Gemstone. With their multi-colored bands of quarts, the gemstones are beautiful examples of the handiwork of God. The beautiful agate is one of the twelve gems surrounding the throne of God. -- The fifth onyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, the twelfth amethyst. Revelation 21:20
