July 8th - The Apostle Islands sit just off shore from the Bayfield Peninsula on Lake Superior. Erosion of the sandstone has carved out sea caves which can be visited by boat during the summer, and on skies during colder winters. The caves are one of the wonders of the region and give new meaning to "Heaven on Earth".
October 3rd - Autumn on the North Shore of Lake Superior is a very special time of year. The first frost of the season usually occurs in late September and that signals the start of color change. Usually within 2 weeks the North Shore is blazing with the reds and yellows of autumn. Split Rock Lighthouse sits in the middle of all this beauty and provided a perfect centerpiece for this image.
December 28th - Ice formations at the mouth of the Lester River in Duluth make for interesting artwork.
