October 10 - Autumn Colors at Split Rock With the second week of October arriving in the Northland, the brilliant colors of autumn have now descended the North Shore slopes to embrace Lake Superior's shoreline. The gold of the aspen, greens of the cedars, and red maples trees embrace Split Rock Lighthouse like a warm blanket and highlight the beauty of this setting.
