northernimages > The Lily-of-the-Valley (also called the May Lily), with its broad leaves and fragrant little nodding, white, bell-shaped flowers, is familiar to everyone. Although the plant was used during WWI as a medicine to treat soldiers coming off the battle fields who had gas poisoning. All of the parts of the plant are actually quit toxic. Of course I found this out after I developed an itchy rash on my hand after touching the plants. If there is any flower that looks fake, it is this one. The little bells look so perfect, that it's hard to believe their real. The Lily of the Valley is another example of the perfection and beauty of God displayed in the small things of the world.
